PREJUDICE was founded in June 1993 by 4 total inexperienced members. There was no singer found at that time. They rehearsed a lot and tried to develop their own style. In July 1993 the band was complete and started to write their own songs. At that point PREJUDICE existed out of Mick (guitars), Def (guitars), Edge (drums), Ivo (bass) and Yves (vocals). The music was a mix of speed and trash. The lyrics they wrote were about hardship in life, by own experiences.
They gave their first performance in December 1993 This was a turning - point because they decided to head for a more technical direction. In October 1994 the bass player decided to leave the band. After a few gigs with Profile, Chemical Breath, Criminal Judge, insanity Reigns Supreme,..., they recorded a 4- track promo tape called 'Violent New Breed' with 5 songs of their own. This tape showed what PREJUDICE was capable of that moment.
In the beginning of 1995 Mick and Edge left the group and were replaced by Smè (guitars) and Eddy (drums). In February Omer became the new bass player of PREJUDICE but in May the group decided to replace the drummer by Frank. They also tried to fill up a few songs with a keyboard player & backing vocalist, Erik, while he was already playing live with them. The problems kept coming because in June 1995 the band decided to kick out Smè and to replace him by Kristof. The bass player went to Insanity Reigns Supreme and he was replaced by Sammy.
In the meantime they did gigs with Deviate, Belgian Associality, Crumb, Exterminator, Ashburry Faith, Phlebotomized, Brotherhood Foundation, Necrodochion,... March 1996, the first demo is finally recorded at the Beaufort studio under expert knowledge of Han Swagerman. It contains 5 songs and is called 'Jaundiced Eye'.
Because of personal differences vocalist Yves left the band in November 1996. Backing vocalist Erik took over the lead vocals and also kept on playing the keyboards. At this point PREJUDICE music’s potency is now twice the level it was before, with the former vocalist. Between January and June of 1997 PREJUDICE did the Jaundiced Tour. A tour of about 20 performances with several bands, through the Belgian club circuit.
In July 1997 the members of PREJUDICE signed a CD-contract with Eastern Star Music Entertainment. The recording of this debut-album took place at the end of July at the Harrow Productions studios under expert knowledge of Harry Wijering. Due to negligence of the record company PREJUDICE decided to release the CD under direct management. This would happen in co-operation with Teutonic Existence Rec. and D&F Agency. They will take care of the distribution, promotion and performances in Belgium and other countries.
Not long after the release of their debut PREJUDICE did a tour for the promotion of 'Broken promises', with lots of interviews and tons of good reviews in zines. The tour was called the 'Broken tour ‘98', and they played in countries like: Italy, Germany, Holland and Belgium. Broken Promises comprehends the musical contents in which 5 musicians found the way to progressive, brutal, technical death metal.
At the end of Dec. '99 the guitar player Kristof was replaced by Tuni (ex-Necrodochion, ex-Protomysta). In March and April 2000 PREJUDICE did a European tour with "GODLESS TRUTH" from CZ it was called the "Brutal zero zero tour", they did countries like Germany, Holland, France, Spain, Portugal, Czech Rep., Austria, Swiss & Italy. In December 2000 PREJUDICE toured successfully as headliner throughout Portugal.
At this point PREJUDICE are working on new songs for their upcoming full CD "REALITY", it will contain 11 songs and will be released in Oct. '01.
After releasing “REALITY” in October 2001 PREJUDICE did a European tour in Nov/Dec ‘01 together with Sacred Sin & Cadaveric Crematorium. In the spring as in the summer of ‘02 PREJUDICE did countless festivals & gigs all over Europe with bands like Immortal, Hypocrisy, Malevolent Creation, Testament, Darkane, Aborted, Sinister, Death angel, Kataklysm, and lots of others, followed by the ‘Revelations’ tour’02 in Sept/Oct with killer bands like Vader, Krisiun, Decapitated, Dying Fetus, Monstrosity, & Houwitser which turned out to be a great success! The album did great in all zines and metal radiostations..
In February ’03 PREJUDICE signed a record deal with PAINKILLER to release DOMINION OF CHAOS the 3th epos of PREJUDICE in early ‘04
In June/July ‘03 PREJUDICE went on tour with the old-school deathers from SIX FEET UNDER & OBSCENITY.
PREJUDICE will enter the EXCESS recording studio(Holland) on 27th of Sept te record their new album DOMINION OF CHAOS. What of course will be followed by European tours & dates.
In January PREJUDICE will do a European tour with Hate eternal, Dying fetus & Deeds of flesh followed by the No mercy fests in April with as head liners CANNIBAL CORPSE!!
