I'm not used to
review that kinda music cuz it's not my cup of tea. So don't be mad at me while
being a little much subjective!!
When I first received the CD, the 1st thing I noticed was the packaging quality
which is really great! Excellent cover with a complete and well detailed booklet.
The sound is indeed over the average, it is true that the rhythm guitars and
drums miss punch but on the whole we distinguish each instrument of the others.
The technical level is really high and worthy of a good heavy/prog band.
So imagine Dream Theater, Symphony X and Malmsteen gathered in the same album
with neoclassical solos à la Yngwie, true prog rhythms without forgetting
some joyful and melodic passages with a medieval touch accentuated by flute
and cello.
These 8 tracks start by an instrumental intro 'Ouverture' that will lull you
by its melodies and solos based on the deepest feeling , and link together then
with the rest which sometimes lacks originality especially on ' Wounded' with
a piano intro and heavy/slow riffs which is one of DT specialties.
At last I've got nothing to add but the band deserves to sign with a strong
label and why not,to share one day a scene with a great prog band.
