An exclusive interview of Nabyl from Killer Zone(morocco) talking after their absurd arrest by the BNPJ on Sunday ,February 16 .They were accused " of having shaken the faith of the Moslems ", the charge basing itself on exhibits such as CD, T-shirts or gadgets. "After the arrest we did 5 gigs so well fight em till the grave now with the last judgments Not Guilty we were fight em more!!!"

Can you tell us the band's history?
First of all i would like to thx the lelahel and redouane u guys rules Well killerzone was formed in September 2000, when NabyL <me> Adil and Adnane was back from summer days , so the idea was to make a band that gone play destroying stuffs with no limits .in December Muslim join the band to blast the drum. this is the killerzone band members and still

How would you define your music?
humm fucking sick question I really don't know , we play what we like .I can say it's sickgorepronodeathgrind

Before killer zone, did you play in other bands?
I used to play in other bands Vomiting Brain, Chaos, RiP

Did you know each other before being in the band?
Yes this why we decided to play music course we were in the same schools since long time and we are friends for years specially me and Adil

Can you explain the meaning and the symbolic that hides behind the name "killer zone" ?
well it's clear and easy to get it , but for us it's means our life and country we are in a killer zone, they treat us like animals no rights no freedom .... This first meaning the second one , u know in gigs there always a guy that stand inside the circle and destroy the other head bangers ass so this the killer and he rules in him zone.

What are your musical influences?
all underground stuffs" brutal truth , repulsion, sob, carcass, Agathocles ,dark angel , slayer, Haemorrhage, Anal cunt... but no fucking black metal

What are your lyrics about?
Human sickness and medical madness we like gore stuffs it's funny but we do talk a lot about society shits , wars and our second country Palestine

By which way do you approach the conception of your music?
can you talk about your album (genital cancer) which is really well conceived musically, cause we feel all the brutality of brutal death metal and a little suspicion of grind core?
Genital cancer was our First Song we made it for fun no more, I did have some lyrics about a guy that lose him dick so it's comes easy to put it out and the must interesting thing is that we don't care about what we play it's like that cause the band members have many influences so it can be brutal death or maybe grind core it's music and for fun.

Do you sing in Arabic?
Yes , nice question hahhaha well hope to sing like litham in arabic zeboba

How the recording of this album happened? are you satisfied by the results?
Adnane did all the work on him computer because in here there no fucking studio where we can record and if they exist they fucking sux and high prices so we can work with em so it's was a good experience to to make the First Moroccan metal band demo , and it's ok for a Home made stuff

The album (g..c..) was released 1 year ago, how was it greeted by the different media (magazines, fanzines, webzines ,radios ...) ?
and how was the distribution and the promotion?
my Friend there Nothing here so it's just our close brothers that can get it

With regard to the bands in the Maghreb, we notice that you play pure grind/brutal with no maghrebian traditional music touch, is that a personal choice ? or do you prefer to project that
in the future?
we care about our traditional music and we know we have to many good things in here , but till now didn't realy think of putting stuffs like that even if we did a cover of a Moroccan song that Chaabi bands play in weedin " daha o daha walhi ma khlaha " hahaha

Which image do you want to give to the band?
we are here to choke you, with Gorely jokes

What about the metal scene in your country , for how long does it exist, can you tell us its history?
well the scene in here is pretty good there many bands that blast good things like Reborn ,Nekros , Tora bora , infected Brain ....
at the beginning it was IMMORTEL SPIRIT 1996 the first metal show ever in Casablanca and the scene is really active in Casablanca many good metal bands no bastards

What's the actual state of metal scene in Morocco? and how many bands are there?
now after some bad time and Jail we are here to make more fucking metal and I see a lots of guys trying to build bands that good thing I think there many bands like 20 because the last gig we did it was like 16 bands from morocco and one from France 3 days of fucking metal

Is that scene well structured, I mean with labels , fanzines , magazines ,webzines...?
Nothing we work in our association with the help of LA FOL to do that as soon as possible , I'm trying to make out one of our old zine call "Underground" not easy at all

Any collaborations projected with other bands from other counties ( gigs, split CDs or other things)?
Yeah after the show with la chose a band from France now I'm working with the Guys to bring Litham and some hellish friends' bands to make noise

Do you make lot of gigs? and what about organization and the audience?
well this year wasn't Good for us , we were in jail ...but for last year we did 20 gigs and the big one was in La Fol more then 600 metal heads that was Killer
for this year with La fol i did play with Reborn < side project band >face of 7000 persons it was fuckingggggggg killlerrrrrrr

Did you already give gigs outside your country?
Nothing till now , hope to do that and show em how Arabic Grind can be

When shall we listen to the second album or demo?
We have to record some shit for the old one and then we can talk about the coming demo because right now adil and adnane are working so don't have mush time for music

Since the arrest, except the impact caused by the world press, there was a sit-in and notably a concert which gathered many Moroccan artists , what did you feel and did that motivate to resist such pressure?
we well Destroy em stupidity with music and metal well never die in morocco

Do you think that being a metal head or a metal band is a sign of wickedness in a country where Muslims coast Catholics , Jews and Protestants?
No i don't Think so Music if For all Open Minded Pp so Those extremist have No place die

Do you think that one day metal music will take place in a country where all forms of rebellion or underground movements are marginalized?
For my country it's beginning now there more metal brothers we can do more things now after that ABSURD arrest and even in other Arabic countries I see guys moving em asses that hellish nice Good work Brothers

Since your arrest and after all the generated judgments ,are you ready to keep on fighting?
after the arrest we did 5 gigs so well fight em till the grave now with the last judgments Not Guilty we will fight em more

What do you think of the concept of our website? notably other projects in the future such as a maghrebian metal festival, a compilation... as we say "union make strength"
