Black Metal act IMPIETY, founded in 1990, hailed their coming with a 1992
demo 'Ceremonial Necrochrist Redesecration'. The band at this stage comprised
of frontman Shyalthan, guitarist Xxxul and drummer Iblyss. The group,
minus Xxxul and with new guitarist Leprophiliac Rex, was signed up to
the Shivadarshana label for a 7" single 'Salve The Goat'. This release
sold well and was also licensed to the American Fudgeworthy label where
it was pressed onto marble vinyl.
Following the single IMPIETY bolstered their sound with guitarist Abyydos
as Rex took on bass duties. This incarnation of IMPIETY cut the debut
album 'Asateerul Awaleen'. Response was strong again and a projected mini
album 'Funeralight' was recorded. However, IMPIETY's record label collapsed
and the EP surfaced only on tape format. After this episide Iblyss was
forced out and Abyydos was forced to depart to fulfill his national service
obligations. IMPIETY was brought back up to strength with the addition
of guitarist Fryaun and ex-LIBATION drummer Dajjal.
Dajjal would later join Deathsters ABBATOIR whilst coincidently erstwhile
ABBATOIR and ABHORER man Dagoth joined IMPIETY. Session bass at this juncture
was being handled by ABATTORY's Kravnos for the 1999 album 'Skullfucking
Armageddon'. Meantime Samhain Records in America issued 'Dragon Oath Diabolus'
from the 'Funeralight' sessions on a split 7" single with the infamous
PROFANATICA.
The turn of the millenium beckoned further line up changes when Fryraun
was allegedly imprisoned for two years for posseession of heroin curtailing
a planned Asian and European tour. Regrouping founder member Xxxul rejoined
alongside bassist Demonomancer and European shows ensued. Upon returning
to Singapore Dagoth left the fold, later teaming up with DEMONIFICATION,
and was replaced by Fauzzt of HAIL for a second round of European dates.
The French Drakkar label re-released 'Skullfucking Armageddon' with extra
tracks from earlier EPs.
IMPIETY signed to the established French Black Metal haven Osmose Productions
with Demonomancer opting out to join Black Thrashers DEMONIFICATION. Recording
for a new album took place in Germany with producer Andy Classen. The
resulting 'Kaos Kommand 696' came in a limited digipack version added
two cover versions, namely SEXTRASH's 'Black Church' and BLASPHEMY's 'Goddess
Of Perversity'.
IMPIETY lost the services of both Fauzzt and Fyraun in December of 2003.
They would be replaced by Mexican musicians in the HACAVITZ, ex-RAVAGER,
DISGORGE credited guitarist Antimo and Oscar Garcia of HACAVITZ and RAVAGER
repute on drums. This revised line up immediately cut tracks for a split
EP to be shared with Siamese act SURRENDER OF DIVINITY through Unholy
Horde Records. This outing, entitled 'Two Majesties: An Arrogant Alliance
Of Satan's Extreme Elite' featured a cover of DESTRUCTION's 'Invincible
Force'.
IMPIETY signed with the Polish Agonia label in early 2004, recording their
fourth full-length album 'Paramount Evil' at Ambox Studios in Queretaro,
Mexico in July, these sessions including a cover version of SEPULTURA's
'Morbid Visions'. Mexican gigs throughout August had the band supported
at various stages by ETERNAL DAMNATION, SARGATANAS and INFINITUM OBSCURE.
The band further projected European shows allied with Australians ATOMIZER
and Poland's WITCHMASTER for September of 2004. These dates did not transpire
though and November gigs, dubbed 'Paramount Evil European Assault', witnessed
a partnership with ATOMIZER once again and VIDSYN. Once again though,
these projected shows were cancelled too.
