Interview of Piotr Popiel the Label Manager of Crude Entertainement an underground brutal death metal and gore grind Label from Poland : "Underground means co-operation, passion, friendship and it's not focused for profit only".

Hi Piotr, Please introduce Crude Entertainment to our readers, tracking the history of your label?
Hallo, CRUDE Entertainment is a small underground extreme metal label and distro.. I'm running it since 5 years. I was released 3 CD's:
Crude 001 PATOLOGICUM (pl) "Hecatomb of Aberration" CD gore/grind in veins of Dead Infection & Mortician
Crude 002 PARRICIDE / PATOLOGICUM / DEFORMED 3 way split CD the best brutal death polish act / goregrind / deathgrind "CUT YOUR HEAD BEFORE THEY DO" (incl some live tracks, covers, unreleased stuff and huge multimedia section)
Crude 003 DARTH (ger) "Buttfucked By Destiny" CD total death metal
I forward to release second PATOLOGICUM album this year.
I was released also demo CDr of WHORHOUSE - thrash metal band inspired by SACRED REICH, EXODUS as crude 004.

Why did you choose that name and what gave you the idea to create this label?
I was killed by PARRICIDE's "Crude" album and I thought it will be good name for my underground activity. I think that extreme metal must be CRUDE and that's it.
I decided to start running it because I'm very close to extreme stage since I was a kid.
I'm 30 years old and still in metal.

What are the orientations of your label?
100 % Heterosexual of course (he,he). I prefer brutal death metal and gore grind and that's my label's target.
But in my distribution you can find also thrash, black, doom, heavy and even some hardcore and dark ambient.

What have been the most important releases for the label? Also, what have been the most important events from its creation until now?
That's simple my band PATOLOGICUM and our debut CD "Hecatomb of Aberration"

On the other hand, are there some productions you have finally regretted to release on Crude Entertainment?
I haven't confirmed plans but as I've written before I want to release second CD of PATOLOGICUM probably in autumn.
I think also about other releases but it's too early talk about it. My release plans depends on money as everything on this fucking world.

What are the conditions for a band to be signed with you?
They must give me a lot of premium quality Jamaica dope and palette of beer (one per band member)....Seriously I must like their music and it must be worth of releasing - in my opinion.

What about the promotion and distribution of your releases?
I'm focused on trades and I'm trading with more than 100 labels, distro's and bands.
Promos are sent to everyone who interest in it.

Are the bands satisfied?
I hope...they haven't any choice so they must be happy (he,he) I'm a dictator here. Crudity means quality not queerity.

Did you already think to sign (in the future) with Arab bands? And can you tell us about your knowledge for Metal bands in Arabian world?
Seriously I don't know any Arab bands. But if they playing extreme stuff on high level. I don't mind to know them.

Do you release albums in CD-format only? How's the demand for tapes going on nowadays in your opinion?
So far only on CD but I think also about 7"EP format but that's expensive so we'll see.

You are from Poland, what about the Metal scene in your country? Can you recommend us some bands?
Sure "we're all polish" I can recommend some bands which are important for me: PARRICIDE, DEAD INFECTION, EPITOME, DAMNABLE, SQUASH BOWELS, NEUROPATHIA, DISSENTER, LOST SOUL, DECAPITATED, ANTIGAMA, DEFORMED.
We've got also good younger death and grind bands as: PORPHYRIA, NECROPSY, ESKATON, DECEPTION, PYORRHOEA, BRAQUEMARD, SOULESS, ISOLATED, FAECES, DIRA MORTIS, PERVERSE, DARK LEGION, PUTRIDITY, INFATUATION OF DEATH, RECTAL SLUDGE, RAVISHED FLESH, MOULDED FLESH, DENEB, ORTANK, TEHACE, CENTURION, ABYSAL, STOMBAMFIRER STEDKE, VOMIGOD, SUPPURATION, BUNDER NEKROMUNDA, RZEZNIA and many more...
Except extreme stuff I like also following bands: ABYSS (death/black), WHOREHOUSE (thrash), SERPENTIA (melodic death), INSOMNIA (death/black avantgarde), NEOLITH (death/doom), ATROPHIA RED SUN (technical death w/keys)....
But metal stages in Poland are not consolidated, so everyone protect his ass only.

We know that you are playing in a band called PATOLOGICUM, can u tell us more?
Definitely I'm a "singer" of PATOLOGICUM. Our band started in middle 2000 when our line up was complete. Our drummer played previously on guitar in REINFECTION and EPITOME.
We're totally devoted to old school gore/grind in veins of DEAD INFECTION, MORTICIAN, HEMDALE, REPULSE, TERRORIZER... We want to play most extreme as we can. Even if it's absurd for many people but we don't care it.
We've released debut album and split live CD with PARRICIDE and DEFORMED. Soon we're planing to record some new tracks for upcoming split CD with GRUESOME MALADY from India (Fat Ass Records - fatassrecords@wp.pl ). The second full time album will be recorded also this year.

Which were the first demos and zines you bought?
It was 15 years ago I don't remember names but those bands and zines don't exist no longer.
I still have demos of VADER, QUO VADIS, TRAUMA and many others band from the depths polish underground.

What is your definition of the underground?
I can close it in one word - INDEPENDENCE.
Underground means co-operation, passion, friendship and it's not focused for profit only.

What are the next plans for the label?
This year I'll release two titles on CD's. One of them will be second album of PATOLOGICUM.
The second one... I don't know. I was asked some bands but nothing is confirmed.
Currently I'm going for some summer festivals with my distro.
