Axamenta was founded in October 1993, the goal was to play death metal with a melodic touch. In October 1995 the first demo was recorded “Echoes”, it contained melodic but yet straightforward death metal songs. Different songs appeared on compilations in Belgium, France and even the United States of America.
In 1996 Axamenta shifted their style towards doom metal and the second demo “Into a Dream” was born. At the end of 1997 the band realised they missed something in their music so they added a keyboard player. This new influence was proven worthy as Axamenta could now create an interesting atmosphere and were able to put more melody in their music.
About two years later the third demo “Nox Draconis Argenti” was a fact! The band has finally found it’s own style : Fantasy metal ( influenced by death, black and doom). And this type of music has brought the band towards it’s first record deal with The LSP-Company, Axamenta has signed for 2 full-cd’s.
The first cd “Codex Barathri”was born February 2002 .
