Atakor was born in 1996,Salem lead vocal,decided to get in touch with Djamal bass player and Allal guitar all were musiciens in other pop/rock/jazz bands for years. With a good experience in music the three friends who are influenced by heavy metal and progressive music set the machine on and became one of the most famous metal band in Algeria, the music of atakor is rich and mature where you can hear Celtic and Berber influences through a heavy sound of metal and harmony, with the voice of their singer you can recognize their style among many other bands. Many musicians played with the band, the two musicians who joined recently used to play in a death/black metal band "slam".
The name Atakor is the highest chain mountain in Algeria located in the touareg area 2000 km far from Algiers, Atakor means in tergui language the" knot".
Atakor has no releases, only a demo live in concert, but many titles are appreciated by their fans, such as black caravan.. fight the evil.. win ennnour...little dove...tafsut(spring)..lalla..
Atakor is a performing band which played with the famous folk singer Souad Massi during 3 years.
