The world retained its breathing a few days ago to know who was going to reign on planet. A world where the capitalism and the thirst for might are the watchwords of this sad decade. Bush.Jr Re-elected. Yasser Arafat died, the loss of a man of peace and the Re-crowning of a happy imbecile, such things are unfavourable for our sad future. Sad is also the fate which is thrown on this country called Iraq, cradle of the universal knowledge where all falls in ruin. I light my TV and these images which pass and pass by again... and statement that I have between the hands this demo that I have a pleasure of listening. A demo which comes us from this dying country .
Acrassicauda is a band which is not unknown for me considering I 've heard about it a few months before the irrevocable was made on that country. One year afterwards, they came back with this 3 tracks demo. the band plays a very old school heavy metal , on the path of Metal Church, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, even if their music is not summarized only with the heavy metal due to their trashy influence which is rather present on " Beginning of the end " where the thrash metal rubs there with a post-neo progressive and a little funky passage . A very good technical level, with a good control of their instrument,a varied singing since Acrassicauda has the chance to have 2 vocalists : one in a nu thrash manner ,between lowing and spoken, the second a quite powerful heavy metal way, to complete you, a singing very close to the old Manowar. Very good solos, hooking riffs which bangs your head ,and turn to you insane, amongst other things on " psycho ". The drums really strike, and the bass is very effective. The snag is the sound quality which is very average but this demo shows us that this band plays a very good heavy metal with simple melodies that hooks you .
Acrassicauda, the future Iraqi Iron Maiden . Yes, I'm not joking cause " Under World " is their " Hallowed by Thy Name ". Tighten the ear and you will see. This band is a sure value of Iraqi metal . If they were given a little importance and were offered better conditions for recording and good material , I could guarantee you that they could give something moreover than remarkable.
To conclude, I will say that Acrassicauda did more than astonished me. It is beyond my hopes. This band shows us that even with the worst conditions , it is the work and the talent which make the difference. RESPECT.
