First, I'll say
that I don't share the same opinion as Archaic Guilt that is considered as progressive
death metal. Cause when I first landed an ear to this demo, I went back to the
mid 90's, when "Dance of December Souls " of Katatonia or Opeth's
" Orchid " made fury with their Doom/Death made in Sweden. Growls,
clear singing, some acoustic guitar, heavy riffs, the whole dyed in melancholic
melodies sustained by atmo passages which are the undisputed print of this doom
death metal performed by these guys from UAE resident in GB .
Concerning the production, the sound is over the average with guitars taking
the foreground with a thick sound, pretty well programmed rhythms except the
snare drum which misses a little punch, without forgetting the lack of presence
concerning the bass guitar.
From these 4 tracks we'll keep " Moonlust " and " A Clarion Silence
" with the melancholic arpeggios and heavy riffs with melodic passages
on guitars, without forgetting a spoken clear singing and growls and a very
catchy solo.In summary, I'll say that this demo deserves all your support cause
we feel that there was an effort provided in the whole work, except that it
misses originality. But I'm sure that they'll do much better nex-t-ime.
